How to Find Clients: 3 Simple Strategies

You are ready to book in paying clients because, let’s be honest, without them, you don’t really have a business. There are so many different ways on how to find clients.

So many people think that they have to start posting on Instagram every day, creating Reels or TikToks and sharing stories, and that will get them clients. While this is an excellent way to build your brand, develop connections and long term success, it won’t guarantee you any clients right away.

Here are my favourite strategies to find clients asap and get clients tomorrow! :)

LinkedIn

Did you already figure out your target audience, aka your niche? If not, then go and do that first and then loop back here. You might want to watch my FREE Masterclass, where I include a workbook that helps you with this question.

Ok, so now that you know with whom you want to work, let’s look for them on Linkedin. The easiest way is to use the search bar and type in their profession, and then start connecting with your potential clients. Don’t send a pitch message in the “connect message” because usually, people won’t see it anyway.

Type in the search bar their profession, then click on search, and then on “people”, this will let you add a new filter. There you can narrow it down by country or narrow it even further down. I also suggest targeting self-employed people.

Even though LinkedIn suggests customising your message, I have found more success without doing that. HOWEVER, you want to test that and see what works best for you.

Then once you’ve sent them the connect message, you want to stalk them a little bit. Find out if they have a website, look for their other social media channels and make notes in a separate spreadsheet on what you have done so far.

For example:

  • Date you reached out

  • Name

  • Platform you connected

  • What messages sent etc.

Once they have connected, send them a personalised message. No copy & paste messages - make sure that they realise that you actually took the time and, for example, also checked out their Instagram profile. Then start the conversation from there.

Local Chamber of Commerce

How many small businesses or start-ups are in your area that could use some help with their social media channels? A chamber of commerce is an organisation that works in the interests of businesses in the area or industry through networking opportunities and other member benefits. There are several options depending on how it works in your area that helps you in finding clients.

  • You could join networking events and make sure that you have a business card (create something super simple in Canva) to hand out.

  • They usually have a member’s directory that you can use to reach out to businesses and then instead of sending them just an email. Send a letter, go to places personally or call.

Another option is to offer a free workshop for the local chamber of commerce about social media marketing. Obviously doesn’t have to be a full-day workshop, but you could do a 30-60minute talk and explain a few tips and tricks for businesses on how to do social media marketing. This will position you as an expert but will also show them how much there is to do and that they might want to consider outsourcing that task.

Facebook groups

One of my favourite strategies to showcase your knowledge AND connect with your target audience is to join different Facebook groups.

Make sure that you join niche-specific Facebook groups.

What does that mean? Let’s say you want to work with healers or spiritual coaches, join a “spiritual business” Facebook group and connect with people there. Before you start pitching or connecting with random people, make sure that you start by adding value! Come from a palace of service.

Use the search function inside the Facebook group to look for social media-related questions.

In my FREE Masterclass, I explain exactly how to do this process. You can register here.

While I personally believe that platforms like Upwork or Fiverr are overcrowded and people are not willing to invest more than two cents on their social media marketing, you could try Fiverr Pro or Freelancer.com
